Interesting Facts...

The WCAARC is a group of licensed Amateur Radio Operators which features storm spotter trained individuals and special service-oriented volunteers who provide emergency radio communications to the local Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and to the American Red Cross in times of disaster. Meteorologist at the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Birmingham, Alabama talk to them regularly whenever storm spotter duties are needed. They are a vital link to providing the general public with advanced warning in times of severe weather.
